We hoped we'd see whales and porpoises, but wound up seeing vakas, too.
Ever hear of a vaka? We hadn't either, until this week when six vakas sailed into our Dana Point harbor. Vakas are unique sailing vessels built in the same ancient style that Polynesians used a thousand years ago .
