Scale models of various whales hung above our heads. On the right is the blue whale we've seen today , then the grey whale, the minke whale, the sperm whale, the right whale, and finally the orca, or killer whale. The blue is far and away the largest in the whale family, sometimes growing more than 100 feet in length. The ones we saw today were probably 60-70 feet. We said the blue whale was the largest in the world. Actually, the blue whale is the largest animal that has lived in our world! Even bigger than the dinosaurs were.
