Shanghai: Oriental Pearl TV Tower

Measuring 468 meters (1,536 feet) high, Oriental Pearl TV Tower of Shanghai is the tallest TV/radio tower in Asia and the third tallest of the world, the first and second ones being in Toronto and Moscow respectively. The tower has an unique architectural design which makes it even more attracive to the tourists than just its height. The base of the tower is supported by three seven-meter wide slanting stanchions. Built in 1994, the tower is now considered as the symbol of new China.
