There are a fountain, a reminder of the Kennedy family’s love for water, a mound of Shasta daisies (JFK’s favorite flower), and also a small garden of Rose Kennedy Roses. The souvenir shop in the background is manned by volunteers. Its profits go to a fund to teach otherwise underprivileged youth how to sail, a sport that was dear to the hearts of all the Kennedy’s.
