Although I visited Germany twice several years ago, I have never before been to Bavaria. This time we rented a car in Munich and had three days to explore the area where we had booked rooms, near Neuschwanstein. It is much more beautiful country than I ever imagined. We explored the area around Fussen, Schwangau and a small section of Austria, and left with a good feeling that we plan to return in two years.
