On February 23, 2012 I hiked 18 miles and gained 3200 feet in elevation all over Mt. Tamalpais. I went to see what was growing, how the water was flowing, and so on, for the hike I'm leading for my students. From Pantoll, I wandered around looking for a route near the closed Bootjack Trail until I got lost and retraced my steps. Then I looped down the Steep Ravine Trail, up the Dispea Trail, and around to Muir Woods. Since the Dipsea Trail's bridge is "out," as the signs say, and to avoid harming the salmon, I had to ...
