My first visit to Chiang Mai was very enjoyable, the 2nd largest city in Thailand with many universities and lots of students.

March is not a good time to visit due to the pollution caused by farmers burning off, better to pick another part of the year.

I highly recommend the Raming Lodge, great location and nice staff. Each evening across the road you can have a foot massage for 120 Baht and listen to the terrific singer in the Raming Lodge garden.
