Sightseeing in Antigua & Barbuda picture - Fort Barrington was built in the year 1780 by the British to protect themselves against the French invaders. The beautiful fort is located in the north western coast of the city at the backdrop of the Deep Bay and St. John's Harbor. The governor of the place at that time was William Bart who installed a plaque in the fort and declared himself as the emperor and governor of the Leeward Islands. The fort is mostly a war castle and consists of various obstacles and defenses near its entrance.
