Magnetic Levitation (Maglev) trains are high speed trains that actually float in air. These are built on the principle that like poles of magnets repel each other. Only three places in the world today have commercial Maglev trains that actually transport passengers. They are: 1. Aichi, Japan 2. Shanghai, China 3. Daejeon, Korea. I was lucky to ride the Maglev train in Shanghai, China. It runs from the outskirts of central Pudong to the Pudong International Airport. The train covers a distance of 30 km to the airport in just 7 minutes and 20 seconds. 431 km/hour is the maximum speed of the train. The average speed is 250 km/hour.
