The fact that some of my photos reveal some pretty rough conditions have to do with the fact that not only had the palais been under a lengthy seige, but during Napoleonic times, it had also served as as army baracks and prison. Clearly these uses were unlikely to have done much for the palace&#39;s careful upkeep. Restoration today continues, but the damage, no doubt, is hard to undo. Furthermore, I suppose, it is important that a historic building reveal, not only its glory, but its scars as well. </div></nolayer></noembed>
