These pix were taken on July 28 2012 along the O'Shannassy Aqueduct Trail, East Warburton, 70 km east of Melbourne.

My exploration was a 4 km return hike along a sector of the 27 km trail between the Yuonga Rd entry point and the underground tunnel.

The tunnel passes through the side of Mt Victoria, at a point where it was not possible to build an open channel.

A bypass link has recently been opened for users of the Trail, which crosses the underground section.

The day was freezing cold, with continuous rain, and almost dark, making good photography impossible!

The Aqueduct was built between 1911 and 1914, and was decommissioned in 1997.
