It could carry a torpedo and a ton of bombs, and had a fully loaded range of 1,000 miles. It entered carrier service in 1942, in time for the Battle of Midway. Probably its most famous pilot was at the time the USN&#146;s youngest aviator, future president George Bush Sr. </div></nolayer></noembed>
