Raymer Block (1917) ,
Sightseeing in British Columbia picture - located at Water St & Bernard Avenue, is the 4th building on this site. The 1st three were either destroyed by fire or were moved. They were erected by Henry W. Raymer a significant carpenter and Kelowna builder who had come from Manitoba in 1892. He built many of the early buildings in Kelowna & also became Kelowna's first Mayor when the city was incorporated in 1905. He died in 1916 before the current building was rebuilt in 1917. The site was occupied by department stores during most of its history. It now houses several divers businesses.
