The Shuswap and Okanagan Railway
Sightseeing in British Columbia picture - Was a spur of the CPR. Construction began at Sicamous in 1890, reached Vernon in 1891, & Okanagan Landing in 1892. Once trains reached Okanagan Landing, they were loaded onto CPR sternwheelers destined for Pentiction. The S&O was nicknamed the Molasses Limited because some people claimed they could make the same journey faster on foot.
