Outside Missoula, the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge is home to many species of animals and birds, There are hundreds of these guys in the area. You can't really approach them because they will emit an alarm squeal on your approach and dive for cover. However, if you find a tunnel entrance that had a squirrel at it and sit quietly for a few moments, he will likely appear again and will not alarm if you make no sudden movements.
