Still, these funeral monuments do not interest the majority of visitors. Before leaving the central nave, please observe the great fresco by Pietro Annigoni, finished in 1985 on the counter facade, depicting St. Anthony preaching from the walnut tree. This episode from his life took place in Camposampiero (Padua) where the Saint, just before his death, spent a brief period of rest and reflection (from the second half of May to 13 June 1231). The Saint indicated the Gospel as a source of life and light to the people (simple or ill, indifferent or curious; an element of counterpoint can be found in the three children) and to his friars (Blessed Luca Belludi, St. Anthony&#39;s successor, is at the foot of the ladder). </div></nolayer></noembed>
