Hi Travis, I have heard of the trail, but haven't had a chance to explore yet. Heard that it will take longer hour. Looks like you had a good hike to Pantai Mas. Nice mudskipper photos. Have you heard of another trail in from the Hokkien Cemetary in Teluk Bahang? It's in my trail book, but I haven't tried it yet...if you have any info on it let me know.

Thanks!:) I can imagine the Pantai Mas situation 30 years before the pig sty construction. Now Pantai Mas is hardly accessible, due to the low tide and muddy sea bed complicated the arrival of the boat, thus the accessible way is thru hiking in dense forest, which is tough. Thus Pantai Mas is very remote and isolated now. I think you may have used other roads to access Pantai Mas 30 years before, based on my understanding from the local. I haven't shown the pics to mom, but I will:)

You made it, at last! After reading your comment @ forest Ang's, I have been waiting for the account of your adventures at Pantai Mas. Great to see your photos too. I have shown them to your cousins whom you haven't met. They all have enjoyned reading your articles and those wonderful pictures. They blamed me for not taking them there when we visited home twice before. Mind you, with those pig sty and all the mess, I don't think I dare. I feel very sad re the pig mess. It was not there 30 years ago! The entrance of the trail was through the sugarcane plantation. We used to buy the sugarcane from the farmer(if he was there)and use it to quench our thirst during the hike. Yes, it is a beautiful beach and you have captured it with your camera, well done.

Hi Lorraine, I think you can take local fisherman boat from Pantai Acheh, a village near to Balik Pulau or you can select departure place at end of the world, Teluk Bahang which suppose to be further. However, Pantai Mas could only be accessed thru boat at certain time only as the low tide will prevent the entrance. By the way, great that you have seen our face, then you may be able to recognize us if we happen to see each other in Georgetown:)

almost missed this set... i must check home page more often ;o) pics I especially liked = branch & shadow, barnacle 3, & the mudskippers... must admit i have never seen them before. they're so ugly they're cute ;o)

the beaches look lovely altho I'm not interested in the trek to get there.... can one get there boat? ie with a local fisherman maybe???

Inspite of the long hike to get there, looks like Pantai Mas is truly worth the effort even if you had to hike thru pig crap, he, he, he. It's good you looked for another route though. Wish I was in Malaysia now, so many fine places to see. Will surely go back again someday. Cheers!:)
