We took my friend Liz up to Portillo so she could see the Andes up close (and so we could have a good lunch). In Chile, northeast of Santiago, close to the border of Argentina there is a famous ski resort called Portillo. Portillo is where the US Olympic ski team comes during the summer and trains (since it's winter here). Although we visited during the Chilean summer, it is still beautiful.
