Puerto de la Cruz is a beautiful and fun seaside town in Tenerife, Canary Islands, with an even mix of about 30 000 locals and 30 000 tourists any given day. It has a lot to offer with regard to sports, arts, shopping, nightlife, sights, relaxation and more, including the beautiful Loro Parque with animals and plants (see my Loro Parque article number 39515 here).

I was there on a vacation between March 21 and April 4, 2004, with my mom. My friend Pirjo and her mom had already spent several weeks of their 9 week (!) vacation there, and we had a wonderful time exploring the town and making trips to other nearby towns with them (I have articles here on Teide, La Orotava, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Garachico, and the island of La Gomera here, too).
