The Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram Siamese (Thai) Temple across the street was established in 1845 & is often referred to as the reclining Buddha temple. This Buddhist temple, of Thai architecture, houses the world's third longest reclining Buddha at 33 meters. Behind the statue are niches where urns, containing the ashes of devotees, are placed. Normally, taking pictures of the Buddha is forbidden, but I got away with it but did not use a flash. Inside the temple you see (beside the Buddha) bald headed monks walking on tiles, with lotus flower on it. Behind the statue are niches where urns containing the ashes of devotees are stored.
