The main church<br> Monuments & Memorials in Tasmania picture - The large Church was built in 1836 by the convicts but the stone and some of the fittings were made by the youths from the nearby boys prison at Point Puer. It was never consecrated to enable all religions used it. Fire gutted the Church in 1884
