In private I used to call her the "Silver Fox". Funny story about that. As most mothers do whenever I brought stress into her life she would point at her tresses and say "See these? YOU gave these to me!!! Not your 3 sisters but YOU! Every damn one of them!" Well during a conversation with my grandmother one day I mentioned this and to my amazement she informed me that my mother had been grey since she was 21! And she had me when she was 40! (My parents started late... WWII and all) Next time my mother used that line on me I mentioned what my grandmother had said to which she replied "Yeah but I KNEW you were coming!!!" And people wonder where I got my wit!
