Old Crescentarian
Lahore, A place where i spent 23 years of my life. The time which i have never forgotten since i was in Britian. I always thought of Lahori food, funs, night outs and much more in every day life of a Londoner. That time when we were doing schooling, then in college and doing graduation, I CAN NOT FORGET MY FRIENDS for a single moment (OLD CRESCENTARIANS). I got married in Lahore in 2005, My wife and myself spent great time and enjoying Lahori Food in winter, especially Baba Shah Jamal Afghani Kebab in Ichra and Sadar Bazar 'Khoay Walay Kebab' (Shafi Tikka Corner).

We cant wait till this winter to come to lahore and start dining on streets of Lahore, i have one beautiful daughter now and i would certainly make her eating Lahori food and 'kareem walay bhulay' (Amritsari Bhullay) opposite to Butt Sweets in Lakshmi Chowk Lahore....UMMMMM !!!! Yar i cant say anything more, i am hungry now....bbye

Lahore
I visited pakistan on 29dec 2007, It was my third trip to pakistan. I landed in Islamabad, and was on my way to visit lahore for the first tme. I never visited lahore and never knew what lies in lahore. I felt something was coming.

When i arrived to lahore for the first time, It was different. I never thought lahore had so much histroy. It felt special, like a kings palace. In lahore the people are so friendly and helpful. I asked many people in lahore why you would prefer lahore then living else where. They all said, "lahore is our dil wala" (our heart). So i went looking, and found many great places such as shahi qila, badshahi mosque, minar-e-pakistan, dataa durbar etc. So much histroy, it was amazing. Also one place particularly hit my stomach, FOOD STREET, wow, so cool.

After looking and Satisfied, I decided to buy a house in lahore for future visits.

Lahore Lahore eh!
Despite travels to other parts of the world, my heart always draws me to thoughts of Lahore and its beauty. I returned last month from Rome and despite enjoying the history and culture of the region I couldn't help but think that properly showcased, our beloved Lahore would easily outshine even the "Eternal City". There is no city comparable to Lahore. Rather than continue with crazed construction Lahoris should focus on improving the city's infrastructure. There should be a more concerted attempt to renovate and safegaurd our historical sites. Pakistan's heart and soul is Lahore and efforts should be made to highlight all things Lahori- from city sites, history, cuisine and language. The local dialect of Punjabi spoken in Lahore should receive more official patronage. It is quite distinct from that spoken in other parts of Pakistan or accross the border in India. Lahori Punjabi defines Lahore to some degree and I love hearing locals use their own language.

I always feel proud and fill with joy when I land at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. I don’t know the mystery of my love. I was born in lahore service hospital in 1980. Now since past 3 years i am in Euorape uk and germany. I've never before seen a place that is so abuzz with activity - especially at night. But more than the beautiful buildings are the beauty and love that the people possess. A word of advice for anyone wanting to visit Lahore - be prepared to go shopping at night, try the ice-creams - they're great, Food Street is heaven for any food fan and the Lahore Fort is a wonderful experience. Lahore the worlds best city and Lahories are wierd people. Life in Lahore revolves around "Shoghal" (and food, but that's besides the point) It's really hard to explain what shoghal is. I guess you could say it means fun, but it's more than just fun, 'cause sometimes you could be laggaing shoghal (You can't have shoghal, you have to "Lagga" it. Davis Road, A great Capture
I am living in karachi. Well, I confess being observer of all these sites regarding photography of key historical places in Lahore - Undoubtedly, it seems to be lots of work at your side(I mean the photographers) well this is just my suggestion why do not we publish something really useful on the basis of the information you people have collected and also we can make use of notes related to these sites...if we can constitute group of like 7-8 people we can enshallah do good job. Its just a thought as I happen to be in research field and I think when something is published it becomes part of the HISTORy which people can review in future.

Hey yall.. its really good to see pictures of modern lahore on here. Currently i'm putting up in New York but i hail from Lahore and the memories of Lahore are still zesty in my mind and heart. The picture of Pearl Continental hotel is of a model i guess cuz as far as i know the construction of that building is not finished yet. Can somebody tell me about the fate of the building cuz i had heard that Haashwanee's never got the permission to build such a tall building cuz it'd have let peeps to get a peek of Governor's house. I Like Everything...
Not just Lahore but the whole country; as you can see the majority of all the pictures are from me.

I do have a job; this took more than a year to do. Usually I spend a few hours on the weekend scanning pictures or getting friends to send some pictures.

I have seen the website you have posted; if you look at the bottom you can see a link called "Images of Lahore" which links you to this page!

You should also look at the other cities as well.

Lahore was a part of Indian Punjab. You can find Punjab University Lahore. Lahore looks beautiful, and indian punjabi should fight for it. Muslim people like beautiful things, and now they are fighting for Kashmir. Kashmir is their bagem, and Lahore is their dad. Their begam (Kashmir) is still under India, but their dad (Lahore) is indepndent.

Yes, Shah Jahan was a Muslim. All Mughal emperors were Muslim, albeit not practising Muslims. There is some conspiracy surrounding the greatest Mughal emperor, Akbar's religious beliefs but they were all descendents of Muslim families.
