near the entrance. Apparently, Buddhists buy turtles from the markets then 'liberate' them in the pond at the temple, thus saving them from death in a cooking pot. They are then released to the sea in a special annual ceremony. The "liberator" is rewarded with life longevity of 100 years! You can buy spinach for 1 ringgit to feed them & and then you too can live to be 100! Pardon the poor photo quality on this one & a couple others.... One too many jpg edits & I lost resolution ;o)
