The next day, the water near the beach had turned a rusty red colour. Not very tempting for swimming, but some interesting things washed up on the beach. We found pieces of ginger scattered along the west coast beaches. At least, it looked like ginger. Maybe it was just mangrove roots or something. It tastes like ginger, too, although the flavour was much diminished by the seawater.
