The impressive gateway to Banjul-however only the President is allowed to drive under it,all other traffic must go around it on a side road! ARCH 22 was built to celebrate the military coup on 22nd July 1994,led by Lt Yahya Jammeh,who is now the president. The Arch is open to the public it houses a cafe and museum.
