On May 1st, 2004, Slovakia and other 9 countries became members of the EU. Although I do not present political issues in this website usually, let me make an exception this time. Why? The date of this event may become one of the dates mentioned in the history text books for future generations, and perhaps it is – obviously, except November 17th, 1989, when the communist tyranny ended here – the most important change that occured in Slovakia during my life.
