1 April 2004, the day we left for Denpasar, Bali, from where Zoe and I would take the next day's flight to Dili, the capital of East Timor. We were both excited on the one hand, and worried on the other, as little updated information was available to us about this new country. We were literally unprepared for everything and yet prepared for the worst. I had even seriously thought about leaving my will before departure, in case anything unfortunate happened ;)
