Can we drink the river water?
HI! Im a regular visitor to Belum forest every month! Recently for the past 4months, I noticed that the river beside Kampung Tekam is badly polluted of orange red water! After investigating, apparently the logging has been the reason for its cause. All the 30 of us felt that the our off work break were spoilt. We could not consume water to drink, clothes washed get orange, the orang asli children fetch and wait for the water residue to settle before drinking! This is outrages; the JEOA come & go as if they are color blind. Now! Is this place an actual reserve forest and can we public barge in and start logging too. Which is which?

Hi Anna, your photos indeed bring back my Belum memory:) I went to another island, I have forgot the name. It takes about 2 hours boat ride. By the way, thanks for comment on my web site. Tasik Bera is easy to reach, just follow the tasik Bera sign from temerloh, Pahang. The final branch into Persona Lake Resort, is a bit tricky, with a small roadsign easily neglected. But everything can be solved by asking the locals:)
