A Cartesian Road System|
The transportation network for the scheme constituted multi-layered circulation grids that were superimposed and inextricably meshed to provide an organized and efficient commuting system.
The primary arterial road, which served as the main thoroughfare into the site, intersected with the secondary axis at the commercial core and compartmentalized the plan into four residential segments. From this axial/commercial nexus also diverged four diagonal tertiary vectors that accessed each quadrant.
All commercial axes were periodically intercepted by lateral extensions of residential streets that adapted to the gridiron format.
