Rather, I'm talking about other Christian peoples of the world such as the Philippines (my native country) where the sermons on "The Revelation" is truly powerful as world now have the signs of a beast in the making (e.g. The Euro & globalization.) Now I don't know if other Christian countries of the world also has that sentiment but perhaps most likely since the Bible is a very powerful book. And so, what was started back then as an "idea of hope" by the seers for its occupied people has ultimately became a scare for the billions of devout Christians of the world. "Repent & change your evil ways for judgement day is at hand," as the sermon goes since the seer's time. But the seers had to do it back then so as to give HOPE to their oppressed people. After all, hope is one essential aspect of humanity. Without hope, life becomes unbearable & meaningless.
