But if you think about it for a minute, the seers made that prediction based on what took place during their time, as well as what took place prior to their time which is - old Israel was under occupation for a very long time under a succession of super-powers: from the Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, & etc.

And since being occupied is a very unpleasant experience, then the only powerful thing that an occupied people can have is HOPE just as to how anti-U.S. folks does nowadays - the U.S. beast will go down someday.

And so, that prediction by the seers is a powerful tool as it gave the occupied people hope that the end is near (their deliverance getting close) since that's exactly what was happening back then - the known world was moving towards a single currency, economy, & government under "the beast."
