Malaspascua Island lies in the middle of the Philippines, about 8 kilometres north-east of Cebu in the Visayan sea, home to a traditional fishing community.

At the Mactan International Airport, you may catch a taxi from the Cebu City to Maya port. The journey will take about 3 hrs and its best to be in Maya before low tide at around 3:00 pm.

Upon arrival at Maya port, there will be a number of eager boatmen to take you on a special boat trip to the Island with negotiated costs depending on the time of day or the size of boat used. The boat journey will take around 30-40 minutes to resort.

Monad Shoal (dive site) is becoming popular amongst the diving fraternity for its abundance of thresher sharks. Other interesting site includes Gato Island, the protected marine sanctuary which is breeding ground for black and white banded sea snakes.
