The set of pictures shown here was part of an organised tour undertaken in April and May 2004 under the leadership of Explore Worldwide. The tour started in Hong Kong and finished in Beijing's The Forbidden City.

Along the way Guilin, Li River, Yangshuo, Xian, Terracotta Army, Yinchuan, Tengger Dessert, Western Xia Mausoleums, Zhongwei, Hohhot, Mongolian grasslands and ger, Datong's The Hanging Temple and Yungang Caves were visited.
