Went to the Amazon jungle and a placed called Rurrenabaque. Flew in on a 15 seater cesna which was an experience in itself landing on a paddock. The placed reminded me very much of Laos. A town built in the middle of the Amazon jungle, by the river and very chilled, fell in love with the place instantly.

First up trip into the amazon was a pampus trip. Had a great crew on nine people with lots of laughs and everyone got on well so was a brilliant few days. Managed to see loads of birds, monkeys, caught some baby alligators (well the guide did not me personally). Went tramping through the swamps with water coming up to our waist in search of anicondas. I didn´t hold much hope for us but our guides came through again finding one up in a tree. Went swimming with pink dolphins and finally piranha fishing but although biting they were too small for anyone to hook. Pampus is swapland much smaller than the jungle and you see and incredible amount of animals a wicked trip.

It was then back to Rurrenabaque for a few days to chill. Had a pool in town in a wicked tropical setting with amazingly colourful tucans and parrots. Chilled there for a bit before the next trip into the jungle.

Awoke to cloudy skies and as we drove down the river the weather got worse. Got to the camp site and it started raining and didn´t stop for the next three days. Ruined our chances of seeing many animals but was still an interesting trip. Learn´t quite a deal about the plants and went for loads of albiet wet and muddy walks through the jungle. Did manage to spot a deer but that was about the extent of the wildlife we saw. There was a trianchila at the camp and I hate spiders but did overcome the fear somewhat by having it crawl over my hand. A good trip but shame about the weather.
