Have you ever heard the old saying about something being "as likely as a snowball in July."? Well, here is a snowball in July! It was cold on the Zugspitz, it had gotten down to about 31 deg F the night before, and was still in the low 30's when we got there. There was also fog all around, we couldn't even see off the mountain (or more than about 30 feet away in any direction). It was still fun. And in all fairness to the beautiful Zugspitz and Bavaria, it was unusually cold for that time of year...
