St. Pete Beach, Florida--formerly known as St. Petersburg Beach--changed its name to just, St. Pete Beach. Notice that it was not even one of the geographic choices when I wrote this article. I was forced to select St. Petersburg Beaches. Many do not realize there is such a city as St. Pete Beach, Florida.
What's in a name? Plenty. This is one of Florida's best-kept secrets. Is it touristy? Of course. What it has over nearby islands and beaches, however, is a beautiful, uncrowded beach, good hotels and condos, a historic shopping area and good restaurants.
