The Island of Lipari is the main island in the Aeolian Islands. It is surrounded by the clean Mediterrerean sea.

Walking is a great way to see the many sites of Lipari. Instead of taking one of the many taxi rides offered, I walked up and down the steep, but easy to navigate walkways. Lipari has several churches, a castle and many nice hotels to stay in overnight. It's a great spot to relax. There are a lot of great little boutiques to shop in. While shopping make sure to pick up obsidian or pumice stones.

Lipari has a great Archaeological Museum, founded in 1954 by Luigi Bernabo Brea and Madeleine Cavalier. Check out the many artifacts there's a lot of history here.

I spent many lazy days in Italy and this was one of the most memorable. Enjoy the View. Linda
