This is one of the most popular public beaches in the Kona-Kiluea area. During the winter the sand disappears, and reappears the next summer. It's a great spot for boogie boarding. If the waves are not too high, you can also snorkel the adjacent reefs. Lots of turtles and colorful tropical fish abound.
