The Kopoho tide pools occupy a large area on the Puna Coast, maybe a hundred acres. The picture shows only a very small slice of the panorama. These pools are great for snorkelling, the best on the Puna Coast. Pools are interconnected and contain many varieties of tropical fish. On the ones we snorkelled, the depths varied from about three foot to about 15 foot. The tides keep the pools flushed with seawater. When the tide is up, you can swim from pool to pool going with the tidal current.
