Hvar Island is about 2 hours by ferry from Split. This breathtaking place was named one of the top ten most beautiful islands in the world in 1997 by Traveller magazine. Hvar has many attractions - the mountainous terrain with lavender growing everywhere (and lots of lavender products in the mkt), incredibly blue water for bathing, snorkeling, boating, and friendly natives with good food.
