One of the places that we all hear about from child hood onward is Hong-Kong. It is the flow of the name that makes it stick. Many of us want to visit such a place because of the the hoopla surrounding them. Well, I did. Not only did I visit, I stayed for three years. Here are some of my best photos from that time.

Down Town Hong-Kong The modern high rises of Hong-Kong are a sharp contrast of the old traditional ways that are still practiced.

Typical street scene in Hong-Kong In the shadows of the modern architecture vendors still sell old superstition and home remedies. The streets are filled with people at any time of day.

Hong-Kong island framed by a rainbowThe beauty of nature interrupts the day with pleasant surprises such as this rainbow.

Hong-Kong island at night Even at night the city is alive with action. This is not surprising as it is has the busiest container terminal in the world.

Hong-Kong harbour is the worlds largest Large ships are loaded and unloaded around the clock.

A family junk boat going past Peng ChauIn the shadow of large ships are the many family boats that house families. These families live and work from their home on the family junk. At night when the sun sets the light changes the entire mood of the city and harbout.

Hong-Kong harbour at dusk Dusk transforms the hard reality of city life in to a soft and gently view of life.

Lantau Island from Victoria Peak Hong-Kong also has many surrounding islands that offer a place or retreat from the hussle and bustle.

Hong-Kong harbour framed by a rainbow One thing is for sure. Hong-Kong is an unforgetable experience of sights, sounds, smells, culture and tradition that should be experienced by all travel enthusiests.
