Singapore is a multicultural society of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Caucasian peoples. It is therefore host to a wide variety of different religions, including those of Buddhist, Taoist, Hindu and Islamic origin. Here are some images of a few of the many temples, shrines and mosques to be found there, taken in June 2004.

The pictures at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See temple were taken on Vesak Day (June 2nd), the most important event in the Buddhist calendar, celebrating Buddha's birth, death and attainment of nirvana.
