This is how lunch was served everyday. However, this particular meal was my first experience with it. We were all pretty bad at chopsticks, but by the end of the trip we could pass a peanut around the table 3 times with chopsticks without dropping it! Slippery veggies were another story, but we got the peanut trick down.
