Built on the coast of the Finnish Gulf Peterhof was the official imperial residence until 1917. It is known as the "Capital of fountains". Usually tours include only the Grand palace and part of the park but that is more than enough to feel the beauty and enchantment of the place. It is better to visit Peterhof in the summer, when the fountains are working, otherwise the park might look a little dull.
