In July 2001, I undertook a five-day trip to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia, with long-time friend Mick Ogrizek. The journey was very comprehensive, including over 1000 km by rental car (a nearly-new Corolla Twin-Cam manual), and about 50 km walking - two hikes of 18 km, and one of 14 km. Our home location is Melbourne, Victoria, and we flew via QANTAS to Adelaide and back, some 1600 km return.
