17 of us from Sibu went to Perhentian/ Redang from 3 - 6 May 2009.

Rawa Island was so near yet so far - for lack of time to visit it. 1st afternoon, went snorkelling around Perhentian; 2nd day, went to Redang Island and Lang Tengah Island; 3rd day, trekking and beach hopping from Perhentian Besar to Perhentian Kecil Islands; and 4th day, to KL on the way back to Sibu.

My Heart is Longing for Rawa Now
A group of us is now making plans to go to Perhentian & Rawa in March/ April 2009 for a snorkeling trip. We are from Sibu, Sarawak, where there ain't any crystal clear water on our shore.

Right now, I am searching the net to find out how beautiful Pulau Rawa is. I first saw the crystal clear water of Pulau Rawa on Timothy Tye's Asia Explorer site when I did a search on Perhentian Island. It was from those beautiful photos that I am doing a search on Pulau Rawa, and that is how I found you. Keep it up. Many people will thank you for bringing their hearts to Pulau Rawa.

Pulau Rawa...hmm...indeed a very nice island, the water looks so white?! i can only see blue and green colour at perhentian and redang island. This is really different !

Pulau Rawa
Absolutely, but there's no chalet/resort build on Pulau Rawa for relaxing. Its relatively small island compare to Perhentian island.. Sun bathing is recommended! White sandy..

P.Rawa is the surprise
Hi all, Yah, Its true.. Rawa is truly stunnig.. It makes me forget about Perhentian and Redang. If you plan to visit Rawa, YOU MUST GO IN THE MORNING else is very rocky in afternoon. No boatman is going to bring you there. Its about 30-45mins boat ride from Perhentian Besar. In the picture shown is actually the first stop. There's a lot of STAGHORN and hard corals as you swim out to the sea. Visibility is EXCELLENT - 10-15ft. I can see cleary right to the bottom eventhough I am doing snorkeling. But some shallow places is pretty dangerous when staghorn are just beneath water surface. My finger was cut unknowingly, I found out only after I returned to boat. Spotted a lot of Anemone and clown fish. For christmas tree worm, its second stop about 100 meter from P.Rawa, another small islet not far from it. Colourful Xmas tree worm scattered all around on top of hard corals. Purple, red, yellow, blue.. YOU NAME IT!

Wow ... nice Ade !!
Ade, now I see it, great collection eh. Rawa looks good, I've never been to Rawa, water looks shalow and green, different from what we see at Redang which is always blue. I have been to Perhentian once 8-9 years ago, definately look very different now... Next time go holiday snap more good ones, put here and remember to notify me huh!

Amazing!
I have been to Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang few years before, but I miss Pulau Rawa. The chalets looks nice and the water is stunning too! Thanks for the beautiful photo sharing and will plan to visit there.
