In September 1999 I took a trip to the Pacific Northwest that began and ended in Seattle. I also scheduled some time in Vancouver, British Columbia. For the return drive from Vancouver to Seattle, I decided to take the scenic route, a drive that would take me as far to the southeast as Salt Lake City.

Just north of Salt Lake City, I stopped in an arbritrary small town for a few pictures - something I regularly do, even though it often draws a few looks from the locals. Wellsville was the town.

It/s a neat, clean small town. An interesting Mormon Church building. And the reds, oranges and yellows that I/m so used to seeing in the rock in southeast Utah this time came from the changing leaves on the trees that covered the mountains that surrounded this town.

I can/t report anything special about Wellsville. Only that among my various Utah entries it represents the several small towns in the hills and mountains northeast of Salt Lake City.
