Salir de Uyuni

Bolivia - Salir De Uyuni First day drove through the worlds largest salt flats at an area of 12,000 sq km at an altitude of 3,650. The flats are amazing, salt, salt and more salt. Passed a house made of you guessed it solely salt, incredible. Also came to an island in the middle of the salt flats with amazing strands of giant cactus. Arrived at the small village of San Juan and camped there at a cold 3,500m.

Thank you for sharing those beautifull pictures with the rest of the world I was there and I could take any pictures myself. I'm from Bolivia and I'm very sad because the image that everybody has about Bolivia is wrong, my country has wonderfull places to visit from amazon mountains to the exotic forest (jungle) with an amazing scenaries. It is one of the most adventures places that I know.

Thank you for sharing your trip with us. it looks wonderful. But tell me, where is this place? From the Spanish sounding names and the cold, i could only guess it is in South America. Chile? Paraguay?

Brrr! Thanks for saving me from wanting to take that trip!! Scenery is spelled that way, and Colorado is spelled that way. the flamingoes did not look very pink! I was in Bolivia some years ago and had to be given oxygen at the airport, it's 14,000 ft. and 13,000 "down" in LaPaz! Never again!!
