I love the southern Appalachians in the summer. I live in Florida which gets really hot and muggy. Relief is found in the mountains of north Georgia, and Tennessee and North Carolina. I've spent some time there in the summer for the last three years, and I'll go back next year. Although most people are familiar with the Smokey Mountains in TN and NC - it IS America's most visited park - you can find the same mountain environments both far north and south of the boundaries of the Park.
